Ultimate Madoka (アルティメット まどか Arutimetto Madoka), also known as The Law of Cycles, is the final form of Madoka Kaname. She takes this form in Episode 12 ( "My Very Best Friend.") of Puella Magi Madoka Magica after making a contract with Kyubey and asking for her final wish. She appears in Magia Record and Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica Magia Exedra as a playable character, in addition to making an appearance in Wraith Arc and The Rebellion Story.
Appearances/Story/History[]
Ultimate Madoka makes her debut in Episode 12 and the episode is called "My Very Best Friend." in the original show, (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) where Madoka makes a contract with Kyubey to become the salvation of all Puella Magi.
“No.. it's alright, remember? I wished for the power to erase all witches, and if what I wished for really did come true... Then even I, have nothing to worry about! EVER!”
Shortly after hiring, she is seen saving different magical girls from becoming witches. These girls include Cleopatra, Queen Himiko, Joan of Arc, a girl with a scarf on her head, a Jewish girl on a train (possibly Anne Frank), a princess Dakini, a girl in the Savanna, a girl with bear suit in a futuristic city, a magical girl in a volcano and a viking girl. When the world is being rebuilt as a result of her wish, Ultimate Madoka appears in her signature costume to destroy her own witch form, Kriemhild Gretchen, with her bow before it destroys the world. By doing so, Madoka becomes a concept: the Law of Cycles, and her human existence is erased from the world, passing to another plane of existence as a Goddess who observes everything that happens in the present, past and future.
In Puella Magi Tart Magica[]
Ultimate Madoka appears in the last chapter of the manga, to take Tart with her to the Law of Cycles.
In Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Wraith Arc[]
Ultimate Madoka appears to take Sayaka Miki away, after she used all her magic to defeat a Wraith.
In The Rebellion Story[]
This film takes place in the new world created by Madoka. She realizes Kyubey's plans to experiment on Homura Akemi and decides to act to save her. To do this, she asks for help from two Puella Magi who live with her in the afterlife. It is revealed that Ultimate Madoka has assistants or "secretaries": Sayaka and Nagisa Momoe, who help her by infiltrating with her the barrier of Homura, who had become the witch Homulilly after being kidnapped by the Incubators. To throw off Kyubey, Ultimate Madoka entrusts her memories and powers as a goddess to Sayaka and Nagisa, who enter the barrier with her. Sayaka returns to being a Puella Magi and Nagisa pretends to be Bebe to avoid suspicion. Madoka, for her part, does not remember that she is a goddess in the barrier and is an ordinary Puella Magi.
In Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica: Concept Movie[]
Ultimate Madoka does not appear in the concept movie, but she is subtly mentioned during the dialogue between Madoka and Homura as God, and how a "lizard girl"[1] took pity on her.
In Magia Record (Videogame)[]
Ultimate Madoka appears as a playable character. She also appears in Nagisa's transformation cutscene.
In Magia Record (Anime)[]
Ultimate Madoka doesn’t appear in the anime, until the epilogue of episode 25. She is seen receiving the Magia Record (the record of all magical girls) from Iroha Tamaki.
Outfit/Looks[]
Like in her original magical girl outfit, Ultimate Madoka has pink hair, but much longer, and her eyes have turned into a golden color. She retains her characteristic pair of pigtails, which are adorned with now white bows. She wears a white dress that exposes a small part of her chest. The skirt of the dress has several ruffles with a galaxy design on the inside of it. Its white sleeves have pink ruffles. She has pink tights and white shoes with wings on her feet. The wings on its back are pale pink. The bow and arrow she uses as a weapon are very similar to the one she used before becoming a goddess.

- Able to destroy/erase witches (or curses in general) before they are born. [2]
- From multiple different moments throughout the series and movies, it has been proven that Ultimate Madoka is both omnipresent and omnipotent, yet she cannot just easily interact with the people on earth outside of what the Law of Cycles is used for. [3]
- Reality warping.
- Going beyond universal laws.
