Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica (Franchise)

Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ, lit. Magical Girl Madoka☆Magical^?) is the name of a magical girl anime and multimedia franchise, created by Magica Quartet and produced by SHAFT and Aniplex.

History

The franchise started with Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica (Anime) in 2011. It aired on Sunday mornings on the TV channel TBS.

Alongside the original run, a manga adaption was being published in addition to two spin-offs, Puella Magi Kazumi☆Magica ~The Innocent Malice~ and Puella Magi Oriko☆Magica.

The series was so successful that several side stories, books and videogames were announced in the same year that the anime finished its initial run. Three movies were announced for the next year. Other media include CDs, Blu-rays, merchandise campaigns and live action shows and comics.

Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica: The Eternal Story	October 13, 2012		A recap of the final four episodes. Kyoko Sakura battles Oktavia von Seckendorff and dies soon after. Homura is the only one left to protect Mitakihara City from Walpurgisnacht. Will Madoka become a Magical Girl? What will she wish for?
Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica: The Rebellion Story	October 26, 2013		A sequel to the original anime. After battling several Nightmares, Homura Akemi wonders if Nightmares is always what they were dealing with, slowly regaining her memories until finding out that she has transformed into a Witch and have been living with everyone else inside her Labyrinth. Therefore, she steals Ultimate Madoka's powers and creates a new world for Madoka to have peace in.
Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica: Concept Movie	November 27 to December 2, 2015		A teaser to the new era of the Madoka☆Magica franchise. A lot of unseen concepts are visible and introduces us to this very new chapter.
Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica Side Story	January 4, 2020		Iroha Tamaki, a Magical Girl from Takarazaki City finds out she has a little sister and sets out in Kamihama City to find clues on where she is. Meanwhile, she forms a group with Yachiyo Nanami, Tsuruno Yui, Sana Futaba and Felicia Mitsuki to defeat an evil organization who promises the liberation of Magical Girls from their fate.
