The Rebellion Story[]
Prior to the movie's events, a group of four Magical Girls were fighting monsters in Mitakihara City known as Nightmares. Later, a fifth Magical Girl named Homura Akemi enrolled to the other four Magical Girls' school. On the same day, they formed their group known as "Puella Magi Holy Quintet" and fought Hitomi Shizuki's Nightmare.
By the time Homura became a Witch, the other four came to beat her alongside Nagisa Momoe's assistance and turned her back to normal, thus exiting the fake Mitakihara City. The group is disbanded by the end of the movie because Akuma Homura has removed all memories from her teammates to ensure Madoka Kaname's happiness.
Magia Record'[]
Sometime around the series' events, Mami Tomoe and Kyoko Sakura joined a group of Magical Girls known as Wings of the Magius who were claiming to liberate Magical Girls from their fate. Mami was unified with an Uwasa and became Holy Mami.
